Yoruba.tech (“we”) operates the Àtùmọ̀ Tech dictionary and contributor points for Yoruba-speaking tech talent. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Data we collect
- Account data: email, username, display name, password hash, optional profile fields and avatar.
- Contribution data: dictionary terms, suggestions, and related moderation notes.
- Developer app credentials, IP/origin allowlists, and API usage counters.
- Technical logs: IP address, timestamps, and security events (failed logins, blocked uploads).
How we use data
- To provide dictionary, gamification, and developer API features.
- To send transactional email (verification, password reset).
- To secure the platform (rate limits, allowlists, abuse monitoring).
Cookies
We use essential cookies (and similar storage) to keep you signed in, remember language and lite/full display preferences, and protect the site (for example CSRF and session security). These are required for the service to work. See also the cookie notice on the site.
Retention & deletion
You may delete your account from profile settings. Soft-deleted accounts are cleared from public contribution surfaces. Contact staff if you need a hard purge of backups.
